Your Facilitator: Alexander Spradling, PhD
Professional Coach, Applied Improvisation Specialist, and Founder of Impromi
We learn best when we are playing. I am here to guide you through a safe, high-energy space where you can experiment, fail forward, and walk away with high-value skills that will greatly enhance your effectiveness as a coach.

This high-energy virtual lab is your first step into the Impromi methodology, and is required before joining the 4-part Foundation Series
Integrate Improv with hands-on activities: Dive into engaging exercises designed to embed improvisation techniques directly into your coaching practice.
Enhance learning with group reflection: Solidify your experience through comprehensive group reflection and debrief sessions.
Learn, play, and be inspired: All activities are low-pressure and designed for discovery, not stress. While you may explore outside your comfort zone, the goal is to learn, play, and be inspired.
High-energy practice space: This is a safe, live environment where you can "fail forward", and experiment new improv-based techniques alongside other professional coaches.
High-impact small group experience: Engage more closely with peers and mentors in a carefully curated setting.
What to expect
Get a firsthand taste of the Improv-Agile methodology in this 90-minute interactive session. You'll practice the 5 core dimensions of responsive coaching and discover which ones you want to strengthen. You'll leave with a clear sense of your responsiveness baseline and which dimensions to develop first. The Introduction gives you the experience—the Foundation Series gives you the depth.
Collaborative Partnership – Practice the "Yes, And" principle: building on what clients offer instead of redirecting to your plan
Mindful Listening – Learn to track emotional shifts and energy beneath the client's words, not just content
Creative Problem-Solving – Discover how to use unexpected moments and mistakes as breakthroughs rather than problems to fix
Grounded Confidence – Practice staying centered when you don't know what to do next or when sessions take unexpected turns
Cognitive Agility – Experience what it feels like to let go of your prepared response and pivot in real-time.
What You'll Learn
These skills are transformative for experienced Coaches, Facilitators, Agile Practitioners, and People Leaders who want to close the responsiveness gaps that still show up under pressure, and refresh their practice with new, experiential depth.
No prior improv or "Agile" experience required. We focus entirely on developing your coaching presence and strengthening human-to-human coaching connection.
Who Is This For?
To maintain optimal learning conditions for paired practice exercises, we close registration at 16 participants and require a minimum of 8 registered participants to run. If we don't reach the minimum by 2 days before the workshop date, I'll notify all registered participants and offer a full refund or transfer to a future date. Early registration helps ensure the workshop runs!
Small cohorts create the psychological safety needed for deep learning. But they also require full commitment from every participant. When you register, you're making a commitment not just to yourself, but to your cohort.
Please don't register unless you can show up. When someone is absent, it disrupts not just their own learning but the experience of the entire cohort. We run multiple cohorts throughout the year. If a particular one's timing doesn't work for you, join us the next one when you can commit fully.
Before registering, please ask yourself if you can:
Attend the 90-minute session on the scheduled date (no make-ups available and no refunds)
Clear your calendar for the full 90-minutes
Participate fully in paired and group exercises
Honor the cohort commitment you're making
Why We Keep Cohorts Small
Refund Policy
No refunds. No transfers. We've kept this introduction accessible at $45 so you can experience the methodology firsthand. In exchange, we ask for your commitment to attend.

Workshop Logistics
Designed for the Introvert: Introverts often make the best improvisers. Our "Lab" environment prioritizes observation and listening over performance, allowing you to participate at your own comfort level.
The "Brain Gym" vs. Theatre: This is not a comedy or performance class. We use experiential play as a disciplined practice to build communication, presence, and responsiveness —not to be "funny.
Framework Agnostic: We don't replace your existing coaching frameworks. We make you less dependent on their "safety" so you can use them more fluidly.
A Safe, Live Laboratory: To protect peer-level risk-taking, sessions are never recorded. External recording or AI note-taking tools are strictly prohibited.
Mastery-Level Practice: While accessible to all, these labs are specifically calibrated for experienced practitioners seeking to up-level their agility.
The Presence Protocol: Radical presence requires full engagement. Please join via laptop or desktop from a private space. To ensure you can fully sense the room and navigate the breakout drills, mobile devices are not a viable platform for this work. During the workshop we require "camera-on" participation and ask that all mobile devices be silenced and removed from your workspace to ensure an uninterrupted, high-stakes training environment.
Peer-Level Intensity: To provide a truly immersive experience, we host up to 16 participants at a time—giving you more space to ask, learn, and grow.
